A new dedicated website for an all-new Doggersbank fleet

Introducing Doggersbank.com – a new dedicated website for the legendary Doggersbank brand of yachts. Showcasing the growing selection of all-new Doggersbank models alongside the heritage fleet’s evolutionary story, the site also serves as an intimate community hub where time-honoured owners and captains can share their lived experiences before, during and after traversing the world’s oceans aboard a trusty Doggersbank.

Out of roughly 700 Vripack designs, more than 200 Doggersbank models have been built to date in a variety of lengths and customisations. The first Doggersbank, built in the Netherlands in 1968 for a Dutch owner, measured 10.8m in length. In 1974, a 19.3m model became the largest Doggersbank of the decade. By 1990, the start of computer-assisted yacht design marked the beginning of a new era and the traditional Doggersbank model was phased out and replaced by the Offshore design.

Today, the Heritage fleet models have six decades of expertise in their corner, while the all-new fleet of Offshore models brings a modern twist to the proven platform, packaged in a manageable size range. Offered in three pre-determined lengths — 60’, 90’ and 105’ — the Offshore range is designed to give owners convenient access to a rapid new-build programme with explorer capabilities and proven performance. Sturdy good looks – including the Doggersbank signature high bow – are complemented by a large interior volume, free-flowing layouts and steadfast seaworthiness for the ultimate in onboard comfort.

It’s these die-hard characteristics that are greatly valued by owners and captains the world over, including one captain who is currently located deep in the Sea of Cortez, Baja Sur, tracing the route of American writer John Steinbeck’s The Log from the Sea of Cortez. Communicating through the new Doggersbank Captains WhatsApp group, he writes: “It’s a wild place where the desert mountains and saguaro cactus meet the blue sea; remote and relatively untouched since time immortal.”

“Having access to a global community of like-minded captains, owners, suppliers and contractors –  especially when cruising in remote corners of the world — brings invaluable expertise, support and camaraderie to the Doggersbank fleet,” says Joost Mertens, Doggersbank sales director. “Our hope is that the new Doggersbank website and dedicated Captains WhatsApp group will become a support service that people can really get behind, helping to grow the Doggersbank community, and in turn, the fleet.”
